Sun Tzu can teach us a lot, even in regards to business. Although his particular arena was war, the principle rings true throughout the business realm as well. The foundation of any strong business will always be a great plan, which in turn requires research. Armed with the teachings of Sun Tzu, use this when going into business. Without knowing your business/product/service, your business will flounder, be lost and find your business stuck in what seems to be something similar to war and may end each day in defeat. Once you know your business well, have clear goals and create a plan that blazes a path. You will very quickly see the difference and ‘need not fear the result of a hundred battles’.

Ask yourself a few questions. When you started your SEO campaign, did you have clear goals set? Was it traffic? Obtaining one of the top 3 spots on the SERP? Lead generation? Did you actually know what keywords you wanted to target or did you randomly select what you ‘felt’ was good? Was there research done regarding the competition in your market? Were you going after the right demographic? If you and your partners asked these questions prior to implementing the marketing strategy or starting your SEO, great!
